Hey everyone! I'm definitely doing a lot better than last week. Hasta a la vista Covid. This week was actually super busy and fun.
We had our zone conferences again this week and learned a lot about planning and making goals. We talked about making Smart goals and one of my favorite acronyms is GPS. Which stands for (Goals, Plans, Schedule). Its been such a great way to plan effectively and make sure that you’re going to be ready for unseen outcomes. We usually have Zone conference on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It a lot of meetings but they're also really fun.
On Wednesday this week we did service for a man named Tex. He is pretty awesome. He is like in his 80s but he is super active. We got to know him better as we did service for him. He really likes to play music and guitar is his favorite. He played some songs for us and then we told him we played instruments too. He actually had a tiny keyboard and violin as well so we all jammed out for a minute. It was really fun. I decided to play the “Praise to the Man” song and it was really funny because only me and Elder Sherman knew what the song was about and Tex didn't. But it sounded super good with the 3 of us. We invited him to church and on Sunday he came. He really liked it and the members loved that he came. We hope he comes again next week. We also plan to do more service and play music with him again.
It's also been pretty rainy the last few days as well. Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday and Saturday and Sunday it rained pretty hard and everywhere you went you were sloshing through puddles. The weather forecast put flash-flood warnings and asked everyone to stay home if you could. We were going around and doing service as well. We helped a family move into the ward right before it started to dump rain. We got soaked. A funny story was that we were actually on exchanges and my companion was on bikes with another elder. We weren't able to pick them up before it started raining and they didn't answer their phones either. So while it was raining really hard we see them finally get to the apartment, drenched. It was so funny and they were all good. They told us about how they were riding on the sidewalks and cars kept on passing by splashing tons of water onto them.
We had a few lessons fall through this week but are hoping to have more luck next week. I hope y'all have a great week and will talk to you next time!
