Hey yall!

This week has been super great! Transfers went super good. Valley Hi is such a great area. It's a pretty big area too! It covers a part of San Antonio, the air force base in Lackland, and a few other small cities around. My new companion is Elder Larson. So far we've had a pretty good time together. I'm finishing his training but it's all pretty normal and doesn't even feel like it.

Before transfers I got to say goodbye to a lot of the members in Bulverde ward and got a few pictures with them as well. We stopped by Vicki's house on Tuesday and said goodbye as well. We also ended up teaching a lesson as well. She had lots of questions about the church and everything and it was pretty fun to help answer them for her.

We were street contacting and talked to a person named Michael Jackson! He was pretty awesome actually. We talked with him about the Book of Mormon and the Church. He wasn't really interested but he told us to come back again if we were in the area and we could talk more.

On transfer day we got to go to the air force base and get our passes. Unfortunately something weird in the system happened so we could only get a 6 day pass so we are going back this Wednesday to get a 6 month pass. The Weller family in the ward was trying to help us get the passes because to get a pass you have to have a military member sponsor you or something.

We have been super busy each day this week and every night we are all pretty tired. We end up staying up and talking a little bit. We live in a 4 Elder apartment. The other missionaries in my apartment are Elder Murray and Elder Thatcher. They serve in a biking area. Our apartment has had some really good times already.

Our zone played a game together on Saturday where all of us sent a picture of our lower half of our face and we all had to guess who it was. We did that over Zoom. It was super funny.

We are teaching a bunch of people right now. One of the little challenges we are having is trying to meet with them and set up lessons. We also don't have a lot of miles so we have to be careful where we drive so we don't use all of them.

Church on Sunday was pretty fun. I gave a talk in church. When I got here on Thursday they told me that the bishop wanted me to give a talk as well as the other sister that got transferred in with me. So we gave our talks, they were about missionary work. It went super good. Afterward we got to know several of the members and they are super great. One of the members is Brother Perez. He is awesome and loves helping us out. He took is to get breakfast this morning and to the store to get our groceries. He loves coming to our lessons as well so we are really excited and grateful for his help.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful week. Happy Memorial Day!

Hey everyone how's it going? This week was really amazing! Last night I got my transfer news and I'm going to be leaving to Valley Hi/Lackland area. It's on the southern west side of San Antonio. I'll be with Elder Larsen and I’ll be the District Leader down there. I'm super excited but really sad at the same time because that means I'll be leaving the Bulverde ward. Right now we have an investigator who is progressing alot! Her name is Vicki. She also has a son named Jaku. We just got them to come to church yesterday and they loved it! We plan to invite them to be baptized eventually. I have had lots of amazing spiritual experiences as I've served in this area and begun to teach Vicki and others. We had a lesson just last Wednesday and it was very amazing! We taught the message of the restoration and the Spirit was so strong and we all felt God’s love for us that night.

The members here are amazing so if you ever decide to visit North San Antonio over in the Bulverde ward, you will find a warm welcome!

Over all this transfer has been amazing and I have learned so much and my testimony has grown so much. I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Hey Everyone! Another week flew by!

We have been mega busy this week. We have been doing lots of different service projects around the area. We basically spent a whole day doing service with projects such as picking up and loading rocks onto a trailer, mowing lawns, moving furniture and more. It's been a great experience and has been so humbling to be able to help everyone as I go about the week. I always think about the Savior Jesus Christ and what He did and his example of service. We have been pretty busy as well with visiting people we are teaching and members of the ward as well. We were able to visit a few less active families in the ward as well and get to know them. We have been doing a lot of street contacting this week as well. We saw a couple tarantulas this week as well. They were about as big as your palm of your hand. I've been reading in Mosiah in the Book of Mormon recently; it's a wonderful book. Well I hope you all have a great week!

Hey everyone! I'm definitely doing a lot better than last week. Hasta a la vista Covid. This week was actually super busy and fun.

We had our zone conferences again this week and learned a lot about planning and making goals. We talked about making Smart goals and one of my favorite acronyms is GPS. Which stands for (Goals, Plans, Schedule). Its been such a great way to plan effectively and make sure that you’re going to be ready for unseen outcomes. We usually have Zone conference on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It a lot of meetings but they're also really fun.

On Wednesday this week we did service for a man named Tex. He is pretty awesome. He is like in his 80s but he is super active. We got to know him better as we did service for him. He really likes to play music and guitar is his favorite. He played some songs for us and then we told him we played instruments too. He actually had a tiny keyboard and violin as well so we all jammed out for a minute. It was really fun. I decided to play the “Praise to the Man” song and it was really funny because only me and Elder Sherman knew what the song was about and Tex didn't. But it sounded super good with the 3 of us. We invited him to church and on Sunday he came. He really liked it and the members loved that he came. We hope he comes again next week. We also plan to do more service and play music with him again.

It's also been pretty rainy the last few days as well. Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday and Saturday and Sunday it rained pretty hard and everywhere you went you were sloshing through puddles. The weather forecast put flash-flood warnings and asked everyone to stay home if you could. We were going around and doing service as well. We helped a family move into the ward right before it started to dump rain. We got soaked. A funny story was that we were actually on exchanges and my companion was on bikes with another elder. We weren't able to pick them up before it started raining and they didn't answer their phones either. So while it was raining really hard we see them finally get to the apartment, drenched. It was so funny and they were all good. They told us about how they were riding on the sidewalks and cars kept on passing by splashing tons of water onto them.

We had a few lessons fall through this week but are hoping to have more luck next week. I hope y'all have a great week and will talk to you next time!
