Hello
Friends and Family,
This week was really good and went really fast.
I just wanted to start out thanking y’all so much for your
support and love and reading my emails. You’re all so amazing I'm so
grateful for all that my Heavenly Father does for me and for everyone
else. Every day he blesses us with new experiences. So far me and my new companion
are getting along really good. We are really effective in our area always
finding new people and to teach and having really good lessons with the Spirit.
We were able to put another person on baptismal date this week as well and he
is super excited about it and learning about the church and the Gospel of
Jesus Christ. He is also super humble and always willing to hear us. The only
thing about our area and the people we’re teaching is that its super difficult
to get them to come to church. We can get them to commit to church and
stuff but getting to come is pretty hard. All we can really do is just invite
and love them.
This week me and Elder Corry had a really cool experience. We
were driving home and were trying to find a gas station. We had driven to a
couple that were closed already for some reason and so we finally started
driving to one that we thought would work for sure. On the way to the gas
station we saw a car wreck happen right in front of us. This smaller car t-boned
this truck right at this intersection. We quickly reacted and pulled over to go
and help. We helped direct traffic and called the police. Thankfully no one was
hurt bad and everyone was okay besides the cars. From this experience we met a
new person were gonna try and stop by to visit. I feel that we
weren't able to find a gas station for a reason and this is that reason. I
feel so blessed to be serving other people and have the opportunity to
help those in need every day. We just need to trust our Heavenly Father always
and he will put people in our path to help and we will be so blessed.
We went to the Alamo this Tuesday as well for a picture for our Facebook
page called "lglesia de Jesucristo del sur/Este de San Antonio"
It's super fun to be in the city so close to things like the Alamo. We can
literally walk or ride our bikes to the Alamo and it only takes about 10 Minutes.
This Saturday our ward had another baptism from the other Elders in our
district. We thought that we were gonna have to cancel it at first because the
person showed up late to the baptism. It was really good though. I played the
piano for the whole baptism and it was really fun and the Spirit was really
strong as well. We did this Bible study class thing with a person we've been
talking to for a while. We kinda just had a discussion about Jesus Christ and
who He is to us. We talked a lot about The Bible and The Book of Mormon
and how they work together and promised him blessings of reading and praying
about it.
This week I’ve been trying to memorize the Scripture in Doctrine
and Covenants section 4 in Spanish. It's pretty tough but I’ve got the first 3
verses out of 7 so soon I will have it.
Another sad but funny story this week was on last Wednesday our
car got towed. We parked at the other Elders apartment and drove in their car
to some ward coordination meetings and dinner that we had. When we got
back to the apartment our car was gone. We couldn't do anything until
Thursday so when we got it back we had to drive to this tow truck yard
like 20 minutes away. Thankfully we got our car back but had to pay a small fee
each.
I hope that everyone is having a great week and that your all
having fun. I love y’all and will talk to y’all again next week.
This is the picture for this week.
